Supporting local is a value of mine, I believe that taking care of those in your community only benefits the greater good. I also wanted to provide a space to highlight my favourite artisans who are providing quality products and services. As a fun way to get to know a little bit about these businesses I asked them all a few questions. Check it out below!

Why did you start your business?

We are two moms from Okotoks, AB. We each have two young boys who keep us very busy with their actives lives. We wanted to provide our families and those around us with real foods that nourish and cleanse our bodies NATURALLY. Bone to Broth was started after We noticed how often people around us were unaware of the benefits of clean eating, collagen, and the amino acids that are found in gut healing bone broth. We know how important it is to fuel our bodies with "real foods"; we found it imperative to instill this mindset in our children at a young age. With our growing and busy families we wanted to show how easy it is to incorporate bone broth into their daily lives, we think this is a great step for setting our children up on the right track.

Why choose your products over someone else’s?

We LOVE to support local; This is why we are proud to source our bones from certified grass-fed farms right here in Alberta. We work closely with ranchers that are passionate about raising happy healthy animals that have been ethically and humanely raised.

  • Quality grass-finished beef

  • Free-run Soy-free, Corn-free chicken

The health of an animal directly affects us as the consumer. That is why we only use bones from certified animal welfare ranches.

  • No-GMO feed

  • No sub-therapeutic antibiotics

  • No added hormones

  • No animal by-products,

  • No chemical insecticides.

In essence, we are using the bones of the healthiest, happiest animals we can get our hands on in order to bring you the most nutritious broth we possibly can; because at the end of the day food is medicine.

Name one cause close to your heart?

For me personally I have tried to instill taking care of the planet when raising my boys. We are passionate about reducing our footprint by buying products with less waste and definitely disposing of them in the correct manor. We clean our parks, the rivers, and almost always carry a garbage bag on all of our walks. We only have one planet and we need to take care of it. This is also important when choosing where your food comes from. When buying meat we try to buy from local ranches, my husband is a hunter so we eat lots of wild meat as well. -Kayla

We as a family are passionate about the environment, we enjoy composting our food waste in our home to use as garden compost for our own use in our yard. As for our business, we compost as much waste as possible, we do so by donating our waste to a local farm near Okotoks AB as much as possible to feed the circle of life
