Pumpkin Spice Latte
So I’m guilty of meeting the diagnostic criteria of a basic girl; I love PSLs, Ugg boots, and yoga pants as often as possible. But fortunately, this isn’t about critiquing my lifestyle choices - let’s hone in on the first part of the previously mentioned basic girl starter pack, the PSL. This recipe will satisfy your PSL cravings in a healthy way (unlike the ones you get from that coffee company with the green logo that shall remain nameless). By using real pumpkin purée, you’ll be able to take advantage of all the health benefits that the halloween gourd has to offer; it’s high in antioxidants, helps regulate blood sugar, and is a good source of nutrients like zinc, magnesium, and healthy fatty acids. And if that doesn’t sell you on it, these can be made at home so you don’t have to spend $7 on one drink. You’ll still get that feeling that you’d get from going out for a fancy latte, despite working from home.
Prep time: 5 min Total time: 10 min Servings: I cup
Ingredients:
1 cup of warm milk (of your choice)
2 tbsp pumpkin purée
1/4 cup of strong coffee (I suggest a dark roast for a more rich flavour, but you can eliminate this if you want it caffeine free)
1 tsp of honey
2 tbsp collagen powder
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp of cinnamon
A pinch of cloves
Instructions:
This one is easy - Blend all together and top with a sprinkle of cinnamon!
