Earl Grey Lavender Latte

IMG_2819.jpg

Many people herald Calgary as one of the sunniest cities in the country (averaging 333 days of sun in a year), but they fail to leave out the fact that the sun can still shine when it’s freezing outside! Snowfall in April and May is almost always a sure thing, so this recipe is meant to combat the cold by warming you on the inside. As someone coming from Canada’s west coast, I can also attest to the fact that this latte is a necessity by the Pacific Ocean too, given the cool summer rainfall that is experienced regularly over there. Plus, lavender has a calming and comforting effect if you just feel like watching the rain! This can be put together with a few simple ingredients, so you don’t need to brave the outdoors - this brings the cafe to your own home!

Ingredients:

½ cup brewed earl grey/lavender tea

½ cup hot milk of choice

1 tsp of honey

1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

Step 1:  Brew earl grey/lavender tea for 5-7 min in ½ cup of hot water. You want the tea to be on the stronger side.

Step 2: In a small pot add your ½ cup milk and 1 tsp of honey, 1 tsp of vanilla extra until milk is warm.

Step 3: Add both liquids to your blender to get nice and foamy. If you have a frother, even better!
